Piggy, Legos, Angry Birds, and Rainbows

Love this little piggy.  No special occasion but just loved the cookie
cutter and had to try it out. I especially liked making the curly little tail : )

This past week was a colorful one with the Legos and Angry Bird cookies.  The white marshmallow fondant was transformed into these bright colors.  My previous attempts to get the vibrant colors have resulted in pinks (for red) and grey (for black).  So after researching suggestions on the internet, I tried some recommendations to color the red orange first then move to red, and color the black green first and move to black.  It's a bit tricky to get the vibrant color without changing the taste and consistency of the fondant but I think we've finally done it. Each angry bird cookie had between 6 and 8 individual pieces of fondant which takes lots of time but the end result was very fun.  Before starting out, I set out the fondant and in this case, it looked as though I was getting ready to play with playdoh.  With the rest of the colored fondant, I made lego cookies.

They don't really look that angry to me. . . .

"Play-doh" fondant, angry birds in disguise.

Lego stacks, they should have been photographed on
the floor since that's where I usually find legos!

These rainbow cookies were made for a Brownie/Girl Scout Bridging Ceremony for which a rainbow is the symbol.  They were enjoyed by all the Scouts after their event.

With Halloween in a few days, I will be busy making treats for classroom parties and my friends at  work.  Hope you all have a safe Halloween.  Thanksgiving is just around the corner - I really love the holidays . . .Can't wait!
